Growing up, same-sex marriage wasn’t legal and that deeply affected me. I couldn’t understand why my uncle, who was gay, wasn’t allowed to marry the person he loved. When marriage equality was finally legalized in 2015, I was just starting my senior year of high school.
While it was a huge victory, I knew there was still more work to do. Many of my closest friends are part of the LGBTQ+ community and I saw firsthand the challenges they faced—everything from strained family relationships to the fear of being their true selves.
When two close friends asked me to photograph their wedding in 2020, I immediately noticed the same issue: a lack of inclusivity and resources for LGBTQ+ couples.
As I captured their first dance, it became clear to me that this was the work I was meant to do.
My path to elopements started when I took a chance and sent a cold Instagram DM to a couple, offering a portrait session.
It turned out that they were planning an elopement in Iceland after years of delays and they were looking for someone like me!
That experience opened my eyes to the magic of elopements—the intimacy, the adventure, the focus on the couple’s authentic connection—and I fell in love with the whole process.
My love for elopements eventually brought me back to where I live: Virginia. I used to feel conflicted about being from the South, especially with the stereotypes and negative perceptions often associated with it.
But over time, I’ve come to embrace this region I call home. Yes, there are struggles, but there are also so many people here fighting for change, creating communities, and celebrating love in all its forms.
My art has become a love letter to the American South—a place I once felt ashamed of but now cherish. I want to share its beauty with couples who may have never experienced its charm before.
I know a traditional wedding isn’t for everyone—whether you want a more intimate experience, want to avoid the stress of a large event, or just want a day that feels true to you. I’ve seen my friends and couples navigate the pressure of fitting into a mold that didn’t suit them.
Eloping lets you celebrate your love, your way. My role is to make your day seamless, memorable, and entirely about you. What makes your love story beautiful is its authenticity and that’s what will make your elopement special too.
"The attention to detail, the day and the result were perfection. We got to enjoy an intimate setting with our small family of three, my daughter who is three had the most fun! The photography was breathtaking.
We are so incredibly grateful to have these precious moments captured the way we dreamed. Now we have a lifetime to look back at our photos and remember such a special memory thanks to Cameron and her expert skill!"

"My husband and I had such a great experience with Cameron. Cameron had great locations scouted and she took some truly beautiful photos that show off our relationship and capture unique elements of our personalities. We would strongly recommend Cameron for your photography needs."
I live in Roanoke, Virginia, with my husband, Brian, and our two pets: Oscar, our 17-year-old orange cat, and Marty, our 5-year-old (mostly) Husky.
Brian and I are high school sweethearts who dated for nearly 11 years before eloping ourselves in 2023. We absolutely love calling the New River Valley home!
I’m a huge fan of RuPaul’s Drag Race—I’ve honestly lost count of how many times I’ve re-watched the American franchise! When a new season airs, you can bet I’m at a viewing party if I’m not photographing your elopement (wink, wink).
I also love local drag performances; it’s one of the few times you’ll catch me with cash on hand!
I’ve embraced my inner tarot girlie! I use tarot to bring my unconscious thoughts to light and love journaling about my insights.
Most mornings, you’ll find me sipping coffee, listening to my Zen Garden playlist on Tidal, drawing tarot cards, and reflecting on my findings.
My love for adventure has taken me all over the map! I've traveled to 17 states and I've explored amazing places like the Bahamas, Chile, Brazil, Argentina, and Iceland. I even lived and went to school in Uruguay for half a year!
What's next up on my list of dream destinations? Germany, Spain, Japan, Costa Rica, and Peru. I also want to see more of the Western United States!
I’m a proud Hokie! I previously worked at Virginia Tech as a Communications and Marketing Coordinator before leaving in 2023 to pursue elopement photography full-time.
Though my days at Tech are behind me, my Hokie spirit is alive and well—I’m always up for a tailgate and belting out "Enter Sandman" in Lane Stadium!
